About Us:

Sapphic Sydney was created with the aim of strengthening Sydney's lesbian & queer female community by connecting women & providing easily accessible information on lesbian events, activities and community news in Sydney.

We aim to be a friendly and inclusive service which embraces all types of queer including lesbian, bisexual, transgender or any other type of not-so-straight (including women who are curious or simply queer friendly).

Our Sydney lesbian events listings make it easy to find out what is on and when in just a few clicks and includes not only lesbian nightlife & scene events but also other interesting events and activities including art, theatre, sports, concerts, festivals, camping trips, and anything else relevant to Sydney's lesbian & queer female community.

Our online community offers a friendly introduction to the Sydney lesbian/queer community for women who have recently come out, who are new to Sydney, or who are simply looking to meet new people. Membership is 100% free and includes access to member profiles, forums and (coming soon) galleries.

You may have noticed some changes going on recently at Sydney Queer Girls as we are currently updating our site. Here is a brief overview of our new features. 

• New Name: We are now officially in the process of changing from "Sydney Queer Girls" to "Sapphic Sydney". Only the name has changed - all content is still the same and the site will still be available at both www.sydneyqueergirls.com and www.sydneyqueergirls.com.au but you can now also find us at www.sapphicsydney.com and www.sapphicsydney.com.au - would love to hear your feedback on this in the forums.

• New forums: The old forums are still available and can be accessed via the link above the new forums. The new forums have a number of bug fixes and also a number of new features.

• Membership: Sydney Queer Girls now offers membership! Becoming a member gives you your own personal profile (which are now html enabled) and the ability to interact with other members.

• Easier site navigation: Info on the lesbian community of Sydney (Eg. Events & Groups) is now found up the top, while details and updates from the Sydney Queer Girls community can be found on the right hand side.

• Community News Blog: Members can now post their community announcements to the Community News page!

• Photo Gallery: Members can now post their own photos to the photo gallery!
